I don't get to see my little brother very often. He had the day off work so I drove to Lexington early this morning and kidnapped him for the day. Here are a few random shots from the day. Lacey loves Adam's dog. She's a major animal lover. Caleb and Dylan were just happy to see Uncle Adam.

Mini Me
Lacey has to do everything I do. She always wants the iron, which makes me sooo nervous. So, I bought her a toy iron and ironing board this week. My mom found her some fake (don't cut at all) scissors that came with a toy barber shop kit. She is having a blast! I still want to be like my mom - I guess you never really outgrow that!

Something For the Boys!
My mom and I decided to whip up these little "Jon Jon" Rompers, six of them actually. No, Caleb and Dylan won't be wearing these, they are way too old, but It's always good to have something ready for the little men who may come into out lives! My favorite is the puppy one. It's fully lined and reversible. So when that precious little boy wipes his dirty hand on the front of his outfit, you can turn in around and just like that he's clean again - hehe. And, what little boy doesn't love John Deere? These were fun to create. Someone asked me yesterday did I post all my sewing projects on my blog. No, I don't. These outfits have been done for weeks! If I posted all Lacey's pillowcase outfits I've made her in the past three weeks (eight, I think!) I would never have room to talk about anything else! I do sew every single day though. It's fun and relaxing for me. Besides, Lacey will want to dress herself before long. I have to go all out while I still can - while she will give me the chance!

I'm Trying to Be like Jesus
This is my boys' favorite Primary song!! I was thinking about the words this week and I decided to take the words and add some action. So, I wanted to do a tiny little act of service. It made me feel great. SO, consider yourself tagged and do something for someone else. You'll be glad you did!

Dick and Jane
I'm loving vintage style fabric lately!! Lacey's newest set:
On another note, I would just like to express my thankfulness for all the sweet women in my life. The Camden Ward has so many women who honestly and sincerely want to help and offer service (or just a listening ear) to anyone in need. Thanks to all those who have sent me their cell numbers and said "call me anytime!" It's nice to have such a support system - they make you feel like "you can do hard things," to quote my friend Laresa! I'm just excited about getting to know everyone better. I've made a promise to myself that I would avoid negativity and be more optimistic. This has made such a difference in my life. Thanks again to the women that have made this same promise to themselves. I know that a phone call from them will not consist of gossip but will be uplifting. This is amazing. Yes, we all need to whine and cry some, we will always have crisis to face; but if we face it with the spirit of Christ in our hearts, I know we will be blessed. I have been blessed immensely these past few months. My eyes have been opened and I'm so thankful for righteous women!!

Happy Valentine's Day!
MyHotComments
Valentine's Day started a day early at our house. Travis surprised me this evening with a rose and a box of yummy Harry London gourmet chocolates. He said I had to wait until tomorrow for the rest of my goodies. I'm such a spoiled wife!
Hug your loved ones tight, be sure to tell that special someone that you love them. Have a great *heart* day!!

The Amazing Page
For those of you who don't know me very well, you probably don't know of my "original obsession." I'm an avid scrapbooker. I loved paper before fabric. I will never give up scrapping, I just have the sewing bug right now! What it all boils down to is that I love activities that require me to get creative. With sewing and scrapping, I love details and experimenting to get my own original looks and designs. This drive for creativity and individuality has gotton me published about a dozen times in scrapping magazines/books. I was even fortunate enough to write an article, an explanation of my scrapping techniques, in a magazine. I've learned that I'm really happy when I'm being creative. SO, this Memory Makers book is finally on sale at Michaels. It's entitled, "The Amazing Page." I have a page published in this book (page 155, "Mom's Eye View"). There are so many stunning pages in this book. It's worth the money!

Kitchen Remodel...
After 2 long weeks of stripping wallpaper, my walls were finally ready for a whole new look. I have been collecting accessories for a month, anticipating the final
"look" that I wanted. I'm a major lover of books, writing, old letters, maps, etc.. My house is practically a library, so I decided the kitchen needed to be included as well. So, Rebecca came over, and worked her magic. I don't know what she was mixing up in my kitchen; but my walls are perfect. There aren't too many times that I have a vision in my head and the end results look just like what I had imagined! In person, the walls look like leather and old parchment paper - LOVE IT! Thanks for your ENTIRE DAY of back breaking work Rebecca! The finished project still amazes me! I keep walking in the kitchen and staring!
Here are the before, during, and after photos. I still have to do window treatments, my island is being built, and I need a few more accessories for above my cabinets. Hopefully new countertops and flooring are in th not-so-distant future! More photos to come!

Lots to Misc. Stuff to Blog About
Saturday , Feb. 2, we headed to the Clean Sweep sale at the state fairgrounds. We found lots of great deals, especially for Lacey. I think I got her five pairs of shoes. It was nice to run into Tonya and her handsome fellas while we were there.
Dylan is my “garage sale” buddy. He always manages to find something interesting! Caleb went “Scouting for Food” with Travis and Cody was wrapping up a camp out.
Super Bowl Sunday was a great day. Travis had planned to have his football buddy, Tony, and his family over for the big game. Travis even planned the menu. I would have taken more photos but my batteries died! Of course Rebecca and I didn’t see even two minutes of the game! It was a nice relaxing day with no worries, and lots of good food and friends – my favorite kind of day! I love the photos of Lacey and Makenzie.
Also, on this special Sunday, my sister-in-law, Moriah, brought me a surprise. She crocheted me a beautiful, soft and fluffy, PINK scarf. I love it, it’s sooo ME. Moriah did a great job. I need to take photos when I feel like modeling!
Makenzie also surprised Lacey with a beautiful poem that she wrote – matted and framed for Lacey’s room. It’s so heartfelt and touching. I cry every time I read it. Lacey loves her Kenzie!! I’ll talk with Makenzie about posting the poem.
I've had lots of ladies ask me recently about my sewing space. It's not fancy, and is rather messy in these photos; but it is a great space to let the creative juices flow! I love not having to pack up everything in the middle of a project because we need to eat on the dining room table! My husband is so good to me. From insulation, to paneling and carpet, he did it all. I'm sew happy!
Lacey loves the trampoline. She calls it the “bouncy, bouncy.” Travis took a half day off of work one day when I was feeling bad and he and Lacey had a ball bouncing away!
